[Data] Expressing color differences in numerical values

Published are 'the three attributes of color' and 'the L*a*b* color space'! The difference in color is expressed numerically.

Colors exist unconsciously around us, but at the same time, they do not have scales or units like length or weight, so no one can communicate with a single expression. So, what kind of knowledge should we have about colors? This document includes topics such as "Color Perception," "What is a Colorimeter," "Quantifying Color," and "The Three Attributes of Color." Please feel free to download and take a look. [Contents] ■ Color Perception ■ What is a Colorimeter ■ Quantifying Color ■ The Three Attributes of Color ■ L*a*b* Color Space ■ Representing Color Difference "ΔE*ab" *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Color Difference Meter "CR-10 Plus"

The colorimeter can store up to 1000 measurement data! Easily measure color difference values in three simple steps.

The "CR-10 Plus" is a color difference meter that instantly measures the color difference between a reference color and a sample with simple operations. Color difference values can be easily measured in three steps: "Power On → Target Measurement → Sample Measurement." The measured data can be stored in the device itself, with a capacity of up to 1000 data points. Additionally, with the small diameter measurement target mask (Φ5mm, sold separately), it is possible to measure small areas, and by using a target guide to accurately position the sample, it makes confirming the measurement position easier. 【Features】 ■ Basic operation consists of only 3 steps ■ Measurement data storage capacity of up to 1000 data points ■ Pass/fail judgment capability ■ Small diameter measurement *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Online Seminar: Evaluation and Visualization of Deliciousness and Taste

The Basics of "Color Measurement" Important for the Deliciousness of Food - Learn the Reasons Why Color Measurement is Necessary and Basic Knowledge Easily.

This is a basic seminar on color measurement by Konica Minolta Japan, which has a track record of introducing color measurement devices in 90% of the top 50 companies in the food industry. The "color" of food is an important factor for consumers to imagine the "deliciousness" and "quality" of food. We will introduce the principles of color measurement devices that can quantify that "color" and actual case studies of their implementation and use. Why can humans perceive color? What is the mechanism behind it? We will clearly explain the "three elements of color perception," from the explanation of the light source, object, and visual elements to the quantification of color and the mechanism of replacing it with measuring instruments, incorporating customer case studies to provide a comprehensive understanding of the basics of color measurement. [Details of the Event] Date and Time: April 20, 2022 (Wednesday) from 15:00 to 15:30 Application Used: ZOOM (Webinar) Capacity: 200 people (first-come, first-served) Participation Fee: Free Application Deadline: April 19, 2022 (Tuesday) at 17:00

Full transmission/diffused transmission/correlated haze & SCISCE gloss 'CM-36dG'

Six types of measurements for transmission and reflection with one device!

The following six measurements can be taken with a single device: ■ Reflection - Color (SCE: appearance color) - Color (SCI: material color) - Gloss (60° glossiness) ■ Transmission - Color (total transmission: color of the material unaffected by cloudiness/turbidity) *1 - Color (diffuse transmission) *2 - Correlation haze (haze) (degree of cloudiness/turbidity) calculated from *1 and *2 Although it is not a haze meter that complies with the latest haze standards, it can calculate the total transmission rate and diffuse transmission rate of transmission samples based on total transmission measurement di:0° (diffuse illumination: light received from 0° direction; including direct transmitted light) and diffuse transmission measurement de:0° (diffuse illumination: light received from 0° direction; excluding direct transmitted light), in accordance with JIS Z 8722 condition g, CIE No.15 (2004), DIN 5033 Teil7, and ASTM E1164. Therefore, it is possible to evaluate correlation haze (haze). Additionally, the color (SCI/SCE) and gloss of reflection samples can also be measured with a single device. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.
